Uganda Ballet School offers classes based on the American Ballet Theatre Curriculum.

Uganda Ballet School began after the closure of the Kampala Ballet and Modern Dance School, founded in 2004 by the Queen of Buganda, the Nnaabagereka. In order to carry on the tradition of ballet in Uganda, UB was established by the former Artistic Director of KBMDS and one of the first Ugandan ballet instructors at KBMDS.

Curriculum

The Uganda Ballet School curriculum teaches students how to use their bodies correctly by focusing on coordination, anatomy, and proper body alignment. Classes progress from beginner to advanced student, giving each dancer solid technical training.   The curriculum provides dance students with a knowledge of classical ballet technique and the ability to adapt the technique to other styles of dance.

Students can advance through the curriculum toward pointe work.
